KILMOGANNY GOLF SOCIETY will hold its first outing of 2011 on Sunday next 22nd May at Dundrum House. The first tee is at 11.0 a.m.. Names should be sent to Pete Moran as soon as possible. The second outing will be to Waterford Castle on Sunday 12th June. New members are welcome.


 


THE 2011 VARIETY CONCERT in aid of St. Eoghan’s School, Kilmoganny will take place in Dunphy’s Lounge, Kilmoganny on Saturday 4th June. There will be lots of entertainment and for the show the lounge will be all seating with each person having a good view of the stage. Admission is €7. Tickets may be purchased in advance or patrons may pay at the door.


 


FIRST HOLY COMMUNION was celebrated in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan on Sunday last during 11.00 a.m. mass for 18 children who attend St. Leonard’s School. All the children took an active part in the ceremony. The children of the school and their teachers had decorated the church tastefully for the celebration. The mass was celebrated by Rev. Nicholas Flavin P.P. who welcomed all and thanked the teachers and parents for the great work they are doing in passing on the faith and its values to their children. Those who received their first holy communion were: Emma Brennan, Siobhán Brennan, Dylan Carroll, Laura Davis, Conor Denny, Rachel Doherty, Ciara Farrell, Andy Hickey, Isobel Johnston, Amy Kinsella, Ivan McCauley, Grace McLoughlin, Ciara Mulhall, Shaun O’Keeffe, Tadhg O’Sullivan, Keelagh Sheridan, Darragh Walsh and Niamh Walsh. First Communion will be celebrated for the children of St. Eoghan’s School, Kilmoganny in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny on next Sunday during mass at 10.00 a.m.


 


THE KILKENNY COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY FORUM will hold it’s A.G.M. in the Ormond Hotel, Kilkenny on this Thursday 19th May at 8.00 p.m.. Representatives from all Community and Voluntary Groups are invited to attend. Information on Boardmatch.com, an organisation which matched volunteers with professional experience with organisations which require their assistance, will be given as well as information on the new TUS programme which is similar to the Rural Social Scheme and Fas Schemes. Representatives of the Kilkenny Forum will report on their activities and representation on many local bodies/agencies/companies during the past year.


HISTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN next meeting will take place on this Tuesday 17th May at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. All are welcome to attend.
