U 13 GIRLS CONTEST CO. FINAL: The U 13’s played Barrow Gaels in the Roinn D Final in a very chilly and blustery Clara on Saturday 7th November. While the girls tried their best and fought for every ball, it was just one of those days where victory was not to be. Dunnamaggin opted to play with the breeze in the first half and while they exerted a lot of pressure in front of the Barrow Gaels goal the ball just refused to go over the bar or into the goal in what was to become a very frustrating encounter. At the other end Barrow Gaels took advantage of almost every chance they got and the first half ended Barrow Gaels 0 - 5 to Dunnamaggin 0 - 0. The second half was a repeat of the first. The final scoreline of 0 - 09 to 0 - 01 in favour of the Barrow Gael girls did not do justice to the Dunnamaggin girls who had maintained equal possession throughout the course of the match. The main difference between the two teams was the clinical and confident manner in which the more experienced Barrow Gaels team took their points. The Dunnamaggin girls can however hold their heads high for their never give up attitude right to the final whistle. Each and every girl on the panel has improved beyond recognition since those first days playing Gaelic4Girls in early March. Many thanks to the mentors Michelle Doherty, T J Mills and Anne Davis for all the hours they have put in over the course of the season. It's now time to recharge the batteries for the winter. Panel: Grace McLoughlin, Isobel Johnston, Níamh Walsh, Amy Fennelly, Ella Dunne, Emer Dunphy (0-1), Ciara Farrell, Amy Keane, Keelagh Sheridan, Rachel Doherty, Laura Davis, Ciara Mulhall, Amy Kinsella, Aoibhinn Malzard.
