KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Adult County 40 x 20 League in the Ladies 2 Deirdre Purcell (Windgap) defeated Aoife Walsh (Kells); in Minor Conor Murphy (Kells) defeated Nick O’Shea (Kells); in Minor Conor Condon (Kells) defeated Nick O’Shea (Kells); in Division 1 Patrick Funchion (Kells) defeated Shane Dunne (Clogh); in the Ladies (B) Marie Walshe (Kells) defeated Aoife Holden (Kilfane); in Division 3B Eoin Wallace (Kells) got a walkover from James Hennessy (O’Loughlin’s); in Division 1 Anthony Martin has withdrawn and in the Ladies (B) Kirsty Maher (Kells) has also withdrawn. Kells entered the Open 40 x 20 Interclub championships with the team of Peter Funchion, Patrick Funchion, Brian Manogue and Dan Breen. They met the Glenbeigh, Co. Kerry Team of Dominick Lynch, J.J. Quirke, Jack O’Shea and Rory Lodge in the Final. The Final turned out to be a cracker of a game with Kells defeating Glenbeigh on a score of 104 – 84. Congratulations and very well done to all the lads on the Kells team.

THE ADVENT PENITENTIAL SERVICES will take place during weekend masses on the 19th December in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. and on the 20th December in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 9.30 a.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 11.00 a.m.
DUNAMAGGIN JUVENILE GAA CLUB RECEIVE 3 STAR AWARD: Congratulations to Dunnamaggin Juvenile GAA club who were recently presented with a 3 Star flag from Kilkenny GAA Coaching and Games. Dunnamaggin are the second club after O'Loughlin Gaels to receive the 3 Star flag. The flag is in recognition of the excellent structures the club has in place, the level of coaching courses undertaken by its coaches, the number of teams the club fields in both codes and level of training/matches undertaken by its players through the year. Well done to all involved. It is a huge honour for the club and a tribute to the hard work put into the juvenile section of Dunamaggin GAA Club over the last few years.
The AGM of the Dunnamaggin Juvenile GAA Club will take place in St. Leonard's Hall, Dunnamaggin on Friday January 8th at 8.00 p.m. All are welcome.
FOOTBALL AND HURLING AGM’S: The Kilmoganny Football Club and Dunnamaggin Hurling Club's AGM's were held on Friday 4th December in St. Leonard's Hall Dunnamaggin.
The Football clubs AGM was held first and Chairman Mick Lyon and Secretary Bob Doherty gave their reports and read the minutes of the previous AGM which were accepted. Both Chairman and Secretary were re-elected to their positions again for 2016. The Senior Football Management team was also selected: Noel Lahart (Manager), Willie Coogan (Trainer) and Mick Lyons and Padraig Lawton Selectors.
The Dunamaggin Hurling Club' AGM, was chaired by Chairman, John Hickey, who welcomed all to the meeting. The minutes of the previous AGM were read adopted and signed. Then the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurers gave comprehensive reports of the past years activities including a comprehensive recapping of all the clubs activities on and off the field. Thanks was expressed to all who helped the club in any way over the previous year and. Especial thanks were expressed to all who got the new pitch to the stage it is at and it will be ready for use in 2016. Fundraising efforts must be continued to complete the works and cover the increase in costs of which having this second facility will incur. Elected on the night were :- John Hickey (chairman), Martin Crehan (secretary), Philip Tallon (Treasurer), Dick O'Shea (Co. Board rep),Tonnie Moore(Southern Board rep), Aoife O'Neill Child Welfare officer/ASAP, James Rossiter (PRO), Committee Members Denis Walsh, Andrew O'Neill, Gerry Brett, Matt Doran.
DUNNAMAGGAN COMMUNITY DINNER DANCE: The Community Dinner Dance will be held again in the Springhill Hotel on Saturday 30th January 2016, from 8.00 p.m. till Late. Music is by Marble City Sounds and Tickets cost €35. Patrons are urged to tickets early to assist the organisers. CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES: Mass will be celebrated on Christmas Eve in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 9.00 p.m. Mass on Christmas Day will be at 9.30 a.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny and at 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.
DUNAMAGGAN PLAYERS WILL LEINSTER & ALL-IRELAND TITLES: 8 Players from Dunamaggan were on succesful St. Kieran’s Colleges teams. Five players Alex Moore, Harry Walsh, Kieran Buckley, Denis Walsh and Conor Brett were members of the succesful St. Kieran’s panel of players which won the South Leinster Roinn B Juvenile Championship. The former two were part of the very succesful full back line. In the All Ireland Junior Championship Conor Hoban was a member of the panel. Michael Cody captained St. Kieran’s to win the Senior League title and fellow Dunamaggin club mate Victor Costello came on as a sub in the match. Congratulations to all on their achievements.
