DKK Lotto: The winning numbers of 14th December were 2, 18, 25. There was no jackpot winner. The following won €30 each: Kathleen Murphy, Ann Phelan, Josie Prendergast, Jimmy O’Meara and Billy Brownrigg. Next Week’s jackpot is €2,200. Bingo is in St. Eoghan’s Centre each Saturday night at 8.30p.m. The Jackpot is worth €120, the Pool no is worth €170 and Pete’s no is worth €500.

KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of  Wednesday 16th December were: 1st: Emer Wallace & Peadar Kelly; 2nd; Carmel O’Sullivan & Tina Ronan; 3rd; Elizabeth Lanigan & Grace Landy. There will be no Bridge for the next two weeks. Bridge resumes on Wednesday 6th January at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome.


 


CASTING FOR EASTER DRAMA: The Shrughawadda Players, Kilmoganny, will hold a meeting in St Eoghan`s Centre, Kilmoganny on Tuesday 5th January at 8.00 p.m. The cast for their new play `The Risen People` by Joseph Plunkett which will be staged in Dunnamaggin next March as part of the 1916 Easter commemorations weekend, will be picked that night so anyone wishing to take part are invited to come on that date.


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Adult 40 x 20 League in the Minor Singles Conor Condon (Kells) got a walkover from Dion Burke (Mothel), Conor Murphy (Kells) defeated Aidan Barry (Clogh), Cathal Barry (Clogh) defeated Nick O’Shea (Kells), Conor Condon (Kells) defeated Cathal Barry (Clogh), Nick O’Shea (Kells) lost out to Aidan Barry (Clogh); in the Master’s B2 Michael O’Shea (Windgap) defeated Paddy Fennelly (Kells); in the Master’s B1 Pat Funchion (Callan) defeated Joe Anthony (Mullinavat); in Division 1B Patrick Funchion (Kells) defeated Shane Dunne (Clogh); in Division 2A Dan Breen (Kells) lost out to Eamonn Hawe (Windgap); in Division 1A Peter Funchion (Kells) defeated Daniel Love (Clogh) and in Division 2A Dan Breen (Kells) lost out to Dylan Caulfield (Kilfane). Kells Handball Club would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a successful New Year 2016.


 


CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES: Mass will be celebrated on Christmas Eve in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 9.00 p.m. Mass on Christmas Day will be at 9.30 a.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny and at 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.


 


CHRISTMAS NIGHT PROGRESSIVE 25’S:  The annual Christmas Night Cards, progressive 25’s, will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Christmas night at 8.00 p.m. All are welcome.


 


L’ARCHE CHARITY WALK: L’Arche provides supported living for people with intellectual disabilities.  Their model of care is based on a shared community living whereby assistants and those they serve live together, sharing life’s joys and challenges. While based in Kilkenny L’Arche support people from across the South East region. L'Arche fosters an environment to celebrate the unique value of each and every person in their community, recognizing the needs of one another, ensuring that residents lead more inclusive, meaningful and dignified lives. On St. Stephens Day L’Arche are holding their inaugural Slievenamon charity trek. It promises to be a great family event after which refreshments will be provided for participants and supporters alike. Registration will be open from 9.00 a.m. in the Community Hall Kilcash. DUNAMAGGAN PARISH FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING REPORT: (1) The implications of the Charities Act for the Parish were discussed. In the future the financial statements from all Parish facilities such as Halls etc. for each financial year will have to be attached to the Parish Accounts; (2) Forms for the Tax Rebate Scheme are again being circulated to homes. Parishioners are requested to sign them and return the signed copy if they have not done so previously. (3) It was decided to clean-up the Church environs prior to Easter. (4) It was decided to amalgamate the two collections during mass into one. It is hoped that contributions to the one collection will not be less than the present contribution to the two collections. The change will be effective from the beginning of January 2016. (5) Planning for the future up-keep of church property was discussed.


 


CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: The local Scouts decorated and lit up a tree in the grounds of St. Leonard’s Church in Dunamaggan. The lights were switched on last Tuesday 16th December and provide a nice reminder in the village of Christmas.


 


DUNAMAGGIN JUVENILE GAA CLUB will hold its AGM in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan at 8.00 p.m. on Friday 8th January. Parents of Juveniles and all who are interested in Juvenile GAA are invited to attend.


 


WELLIE RACE:  The annual Kells Wellie Race takes place on this Sunday 27th December in Kells. The starting time is 2.00 p.m. All are welcome to participate.
