KILMOGANNYN BRIDGE CLUB: Bridge resumes on Wednesday 6th January at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. New members and visitors are always welcome.
CASTING FOR EASTER DRAMA: This is a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to make a debut on stage to attend the next meeting of the Shrughawadda Players, Kilmoganny, in St Eoghan`s Centre, Kilmoganny on Tuesday 5th January at 8.00 p.m. when the cast for their new play `The Risen People` by Joseph Plunkett which will be staged in Dunnamaggin next March as part of the 1916 Easter commemorations weekend, will be picked that night so anyone wishing to take part are invited to come on that date.
DUNAMAGGIN JUVENILE GAA CLUB will hold its AGM in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan at 8.00 p.m. on Friday 8th January. Parents of Juveniles and all who are interested in Juvenile GAA are invited to attend.
THE PAT WALSH MEMORIAL COMMITTEE will hold their next meeting on Tuesday 12th January at 8.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan. At the meeting they will be arranging for the scanning of photographs relevant to events in Dunamaggan Parish during the past 100 years. These photographs may be of social gatherings, school groups, sporting successes, buildings reflecting the changing landscape of the parish and villages, clothing styles, farming practices, skills which may no longer be practiced, how weather events effected life and recreation such as 2010 winter, etc. Thus the next few weeks are as chairperson, Ned Kirwan, stated ‘a great opportunity for looking back on old photographs and bringing along suitable ones at the end of January when scanning will take place. The next meeting will arrange the times and places for such. It is now less than 3 months to the celebrations.’
