DUNAMAGGIN LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL CLUB will hold its AGM in St. Leonard's Hall, Dunamaggan on Friday 22nd January at 8.00 p.m. All members welcome.
KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 13th January were: 1s: Josie O’Gorman & Tina Ronan; 2nd: Emer Wallace & Siobhan O’Donovan; 3rd: Mary Delaney & Nicholas Flavin. New members and visitors are always welcome.

KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Adult Leinster 40 x 20 championships in the Intermediate Singles Brian Manogue (Kells) gave a walkover, due to injury, to David Hope (Offaly); in the Junior B Singles Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Sam Temple (Kildare); in the Ladies Junior Singles Kirsty Maher (Kells) gave a walkover to Kate Dagg (Kildare); in the Ladies Junior B Singles Aoife Walsh (Kells) got a walkover from Avril Deegan (Laois) and in the Junior B Singles Diarmuid Burke (Kells) lost out to David Kenny (Wexford).
In the Juvenile County 40 x 20 championships representing Kells in the Girls U12 Singles was Ailise Mahoney, in the U13 Singles was Rachel Doherty, in the U14 Singles was Olivia Mahoney and in the U16 Singles was Kym Ryan and they all played well but were unlucky not reach the final. In the Boys U12 Singles was Emmet Nolan, in the U13 Singles was Ryan Grace, in the U14 Singles was Joe Cowhig, in the U15 Singles was Michael Prendergast and even though they played well they didn’t reach the final. Kells had success in the Boys U16 Singles when Eoin Brennan defeated Ciaran Cooney (Clogh) in the final and in the Boys U17 Singles Conor Condon defeated Cathal Barry (Clogh) in the final. Well done to all who participated.
THE PAT WALSH MEMORIAL COMMITTEE at its recent meeting decided: (1) that it would scan photographs from the past century which show the changing lifestyle of the past century. Photographs may be of family, sporting events, school groups, buildings of the past, various celebrations, weather related events, style of dress, etc. The scanning of photographs will take place on this Sunday 24th January from 11.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. (2) Anyone with memorabilia which reflect life at the beginning of the last century or major events since are asked to contact committee members with a view to displaying such items during next Easter. (3) The chairperson, Ned Kirwan, thanked all who purchased the Christmas Cards and stated that of the 2,000 printed almost all were sold. (4) A clean-up of the village will take place prior to the celebrations. (5) Tom Hickey reported that the three schools in the parish are preparing projects to exhibit. (6) A hurling blitz will be organised for U 10’s. (7) The chairman also thanked Michael Dowling and the Shrughawadda players for undertaking to stage the drama (The Risen People) during the celebrations. (8) The next meeting will take place on Tuesday 9th February at 8./00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan.
DUNAMAGGAN PARISH COMMUNITY DINNER DANCE: Time is running out for the purchase of tickets for The Dunamaggan Community Dinner Dance which will be held again in the Springhill Hotel on Saturday 30th January 2016 from 8.00 p.m. till late. Music is by the Marble City Sounds and Tickets cost €35. You are requested to please buy your tickets immediately so as not to be disappointed. MONTHLY MASS FOR CHILDREN who will celebrate their First Holy Communion next May will be celebrated on next Sunday January 24th at 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.
