KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: The Beat 102 Award night was held in Mount Wolseley Hotel on 30th January and Brendan Burke (Kells) and Ciaran Neary (Talbot’s Inch) were there as the May 2015 Award recipients for their achievements in the Leinster Final of the Intermediate Doubles when they defeated Ian Griffin and Adrian Benson (Dublin) and for Brendan’s Junior 60 x 30 Hardball Singles All Ireland win. Congratulations to both on receiving the award in recognition of their achievements.


In the Adult Leinster 40 x 20 championships in the Ladies Junior B Doubles Karen Walshe/Sarah Molloy (Kilkenny) gave a walkover to  Kate Moran/Shannon Geoghegan (Carlow); in the E Men’s B Singles Pat Funchion (Kilkenny) lost out to Anthony Mulligan (Westmeath); in the Junior B Singles Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Stephen Smullen (Kildare); in the Ladies Junior B Singles Aoife Walsh (Kells) was defeated by Mary Buggy (Kilkenny); in the Junior Doubles Noel O'Brien/Sean Ryan (Offaly) defeated  JJ English (Goresbridge)/Dan Breen (Kells); in the E Men’s B Doubles Pat Funchion/Paddy Fennelly (Kells) lost out to Anthony Mulligan/Brendan Menton (Westmeath); in the Intermediate  Doubles Brian Manogue (Kells)/Eddie Bourke (O’Loughlin’s) received a walkover from Paul Lambert/Peter Hughes (Wexford);  in the Junior B Singles Anthony Martin (Kells) lost out to Jamie Balfe (Kildare) 21-20 in the 3rd game.

KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 3rd February were: 1s: Tina Ronan & Margaret Grace; 2nd: Nellie Lahart & Nicholas Flavin; 3rd: Pascal Grace & Ellen Delahunty. Bridge commences at 8.00 p.m. each Wednesday. New members and visitors are always welcome.


SENIOR FOOTBALL SUCCESS: The Kilmoganny Senior footballers took on Ballyragget in round 2 of the senior football league in Ballyragget under-lights last Friday night. Kilmoganny were hoping to add to their fine opening round win against Conahy the previous week. And indeed they did. The game was dominated by Kilmoganny from start to finish with excellent point scoring and support play throughout. Kilmoganny put up a great score of 1 - 09 by half time to Ballyragget 0 - 03 and built on this good lead in the second half to finish out winners 1 - 17 to 0 - 04. Praise must go to all players and subs who put in a great effort up to the final whistle. Next match is Friday night against Muckalee in Muckalee. DUNAMAGGAN GAA CLUB REGISTRATION: Registration for all club members will take place on Saturday 5th March in St. Eoghan’s Centre. Kilmoganny after 7.00 p.m. Mass and on Sunday 6th March in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan after 11.00 a.m. mass and the Scout Den in Kells after 11.30 a.m. mass. All juveniles must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for registration. Only registered players may take part in Club activities.


ANNUAL CLUB AWARDS: The annual Dunamaggin GAA Club awards were presented in St. Leonard's Hall Dunnamaggin on Saturday evening last. The Victorious U 14 A Football League winners and the U 21 South Hurling champions were presented with their medals. Also on the night Eoghan Kearney, Victor Costello and Michael Cody were presented with awards for being part of the All-Ireland winning St. Kieran's College team. The Club man of the year award was also presented to Peter Kirwan and the Club player of the year award was given to Michael Cody. Well done to all. ASH WEDNESDAY: This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and masses and the distribution of ashes will take place in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 9.30 a.m., in St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny at 12.10 p.m. and in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m.


KILMOGANNY AREA DEVELOPMENT will hold its A.G.M. on next Monday 15th February in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m. All are welcome.


A MEETING OF PARENTS of children from the three parish schools who will receive their Confimation next May will take place in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on Tuesday 16th February at 7.00 p.m.


WINDGAP CAMOGIE CLUB which has many members from Dunamaggan will hold its AGM on Friday 19th February at 8.00 p.m. in the GAA Club Rooms, Windgap. All are welcome to attend.
