KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 17th February were: 1s: Nellie O’Shea & Philip Brennan; 2nd: Margaret O’Shea & Nellie Lahart 3rd: Carmel O’Sullivan & Emer Wallace. Bridge commences at 8.00 p.m. each Wednesday. New members and visitors are always welcome.

KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Juvenile U 10 Doubles representing Kells were Ross O’Neill/Sean Lawton and Cathal Buckley/John Hayes who defeated Kilfane in the final. In the U 11 Doubles were Joseph Prendergast and Alex Fennelly. In the Girls U 11 Doubles were Sonya Stanley and Grace Murphy. Congratulations to all for participating.
In the 40 x 20 Juvenile Leinster quarter finals in the U 16 Singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) received a walkover from Cillian Hogan (Kildare) and in the semi-final defeated Conor Mulhall (Laois); in the Boys U 17 Singles Padraig Delaney (Laois) defeated Conor Condon (Kells) and in the Girls U 17 Doubles Kym Ryan (Kells)/Margaret Foley (Windgap) defeated Eimear Dunphy/Louise Walsh (Laois).
Dan Breen travelled to the UK for a One Wall tournament where he defeated James Tilson (UK) but he lost out in the final to Daniel Kavanagh (Wexford) in the singles but won out the Men’s C Doubles with John Hurley from Clare.
In the Leinster Senior Doubles Brendan Burke (Kells)/Ciaran Neary (Talbots Inch) lost out to Eoin Kennedy/Carl Browne (Dublin) in the Final.
DUNAMAGGIN GAA CLUB REGISTRATION: Registration for all club members will take place on Saturday 5th March in St. Eoghan’s Centre. Kilmoganny after 7.00 p.m Mass and on Sunday 6th March in St. Leonard’s Hall after 11.00 a.m. mass and in the Scout Den in Kells after 11.30 a.m. mass.
THE ANNUAL DUNNA DASH 5 km family fun walk/ run takes place on next Sunday 28th February at 12.30 p.m. This great event is in aid of St Leonard's N.S. and registration on the day is from 11.30 a.m.is in the school hall. There will be prize money for the winners, spot prizes and medals for the children completing the course. Please come along and support us on the day. See Dunna Dash Facebook page for updates.
THE MONTHLY DRAW in aid of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny will commence its second year in March. Tickets for the 12 monthly draws are now available for €120 for the year or €10 for each month. Tickets are available from the Chapter House Bookshop at the Cathedral or from the Presbytery in Dunamaggan.
MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST: The annual courses for extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist will be held this Lent in St. Patrick’s Parish Centre, Kilkenny on Monday 29th February and on Tuesday & Wednesday 1st & 2nd March at 7.30 p.m. and in the Carmelite Hall, Knocktopher on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 6th – 8th March at 7.30 p.m. each evening.
THE PAT WALSH MEMORIAL COMMITTEE will meet next Tuesday at 8.00 p.m. as part of its preparations for the Easter weekend celebrations. Chairperson, Nek Kirwan, has asked that anyone with memorabilia or photographs for the display should contact any member of the committee, if they have not done so already, as soon as possible so that proper planning will take place.
CONFIRMATION MEETING: A meeting of parents of children who will receive the sacrament of Confirmation next May was held in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan. At the meeting the parents agreed that the 4 evenings of preparation for the children would take place on 7th & 9th March and on the 4th & 6th April from 8.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan for children of the three parish schools.
