KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 9th March were: 1st: Grace Landy & Elizabeth Lanigan; 2nd: Margaret Dunne & Nellie Lahart; 3rd: Margaret O’Shea & Philip Brennan. Bridge commences at 8.00 p.m. each Wednesday. New members and visitors are always welcome.

KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Leinster Juvenile 40 x 20 finals in Boys U 16 singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) defeated Josh McMahon (Wexford); in the Girls U 17 Doubles Kym Ryan (Kells)/Margaret Foley (Clogh) lost out to Lauren Flanagan/Lucia Merrigan (Wexford).
In the Juvenile All Ireland Semi Final in the Boys U 16 Singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) was defeated by Tiernan Agnew (Clare). Hard luck to Eoin but congratulations on reaching the semi-final.
In the Adult Leinster 40 x 20 championships in the Junior B Doubles Diarmuid Burke/Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Jamie Balfe/Sam Temple (Kildare) and defeated Aaron Geoghegan/Kevin Barrett (Carlow). In the Intermediate Doubles Brian Manogue (Kells)/Eddie Bourke (O’Loughlin’s) defeated David Hope and Conor O’Brien (Offaly).
Glenmore Handball Club hosted an U 13 Tournament and Kells team of Padraig Lennon, Ryan Grace, Ciaran Phelan, Matthew O’Sullivan, John O’Brien, Conor Brett, Philip Prendergast and Emmet Nolan defeated Windgap but lost out to Kilfane, Glenmore and Goresbridge. All the lads played well and thoroughly enjoyed the tournament.
THE EASTER CEREMONIES which are just over a week away will be celebrated as follows: on Holy Thursday there will be mass in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 8.00 p.m. On Good Friday the Ceremonies will be in St. Leonard’s Church at 3.00 p.m. and in St. Eoghan’s Church at 7.00 p.m. The Ceremonies commence on Holy Saturday at 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church and at 9.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.
GOOD FRIDAY CARDS: he annual Good Friday progressive 25’s will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m.
DRAMA CELEBRATING 100 YEARS AGO: The Shrughawadda Players, Kilmoganny will stage their play `The Risen People` by James Plunkett in St. Leonard’s School Hall, Dunamaggan for three nights 23rd, 24th and 25th March at 8.30 p.m. nightly as part of the 1916 commemoration weekend organised by The Pat Walsh Memorial Committee. Tickets are now on sale at usual Kilmoganny venues and also Tom McCormack’s Pub, Dunamaggan and The Shop in Kells. Tickets cost €10 each. For further information contact Jackie on 051 – 648001 or Alycia on 051 – 648118. This is a new venue for the Shrughawadda Players to stage a drama. Tickets should be purchased early for this drama as it takes place next week..
