KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 13th April were: 1st: Eileen Grace & Therese Walsh; 2nd: Paul Tomsett & David Sutton, 3rd: Margaret Dunne & Mary Delaney. Bridge commences at 8.00 p.m. each Wednesday. New members and visitors are always welcome.

PAT WALSH COMMEMORATION COMMITTEE (1) Thanks was expressed to all who helped during the Easter celebrations; (2) A Disc of Celebrations is available for €15; A Disc of Photographs of Celebration is available for €10; the combination of the two is available for €20. Those who wish to purchase one or both are asked to contact Ned Kirwan, Joe Sheridan, Aidan Farrell, Tom McCormack or any member of the committee by May 8th. (3) Additional names will be added to the monument. These will be those whose names were submitted to Government in 1930’s as participants in War of Independence; (4) The Celebrations in Knockrossa, Tullaroan take place on May 22nd; (5) The committee made a presentation to Ned Kirwan for his outstanding work for many years; (6) The officers elected for the coming year ARE: Chairperson: Ned Kirwan; Secretary: Nicholas Flavin; Treasurer: Tom O’Shea.


 


PARISH COUNCIL MEETING REPORT: (1) It was agreed to combine the Mass of Healing and Mass at the Grotto on Sunday 12th June at 11.00 a.m. The Sunday morning mass will be at the Grotto that morning. (2) Parishes in the Southern Deanery, that included Dunamaggan, are invited, for this the Holy Year, to celebrations of short walk beginning at 5.00 p.m. and entry through the Holy Door of the Cathedral for 5.30 p.m. mass on Sunday 19th June.


 


ST. JOSEPH’S HOME, KILMOGANNY are holding an Open Day in the grounds of St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly in Kilmoganny on Sunday 1st May commencing g at 2.00 p.m. Activities will include, BBQ, Face Painting, Bouncy Castle, Teas/Coffee and many other attractions. The days entertainment will conclude with Head/Beard shaving in Dunphy’s Lounge at 9.00 p.m. Your support will be very much appreciated.


 


KELLS RECREATION AREA will be officially opened on Sunday May 8th at 3.00 p.m. All are welcome to the opening.


 


L’ARCHE ENTERTAINMENT: The L’Arche Community are hosting an open night of Songs, Poems, Music and Stories in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Thursday 5th May at 7.30 p.m. sharp. If any person would like to participate in the event contact should be made with Alva on 085 – 8641378. All donations are in support of the L’Arche Community.


 


ON IRISH TELEVISION: The Shrughawadda Players production of the “Risen People” featured on Irish Television, Channel 191 recently. The Easter Parade in Dunamaggan and the Projects by the three parish primary schools will feature on Irish Television on Friday 29th April and in repeat showings on 30th April and 1st May.
