DUNAMAGGIN GAA: The Dunnamaggin Junior Hurlers continued their winning ways in their league on Thursday night last 30th June when they took on Mullinavat in Mullinavat. Both sides traded points before Mullinavat stormed to an early lead by scoring 3 points without response. This seemed to spark to Dunnamaggin boys into action. Aidan Donovan passed the ball to Donal O'Shea who split the posts and start the response. Seaghan O'Neill then pointed a free before Ray Cody ran up the field and pointed from play to level the sides. A feature of this game was to be the excellent back play on both sides, with Paul Kirwan and Aidan Donovan in particular going well for Dunnamaggin. Tommy Maher pointed twice as a game headed towards a half time but it was Jason Doherty who had a last score of the half when he pointed after a good ball from Willie Bergin. Half-time Score: Dunnamaggin 0-07 Mullinavat 0-05.

Mullinavat opened the second half with great intent and pointed straight away. Victor Costello however was now starting to impose himself on the game and helping his backs in weathering the storm however the Mullinavat pressure eventually brought a goal from the penalty spot to put them one point up. Roy Cullen came on for Jason Doherty as we headed towards the halfway mark. Tommy Maher and Seaghan O'Neill added points from frees to push Dunnamaggin back into the lead. With Paul Kirwan flying in the corner and Aidan Donovan continuing to doing very well at centre back Dunnamaggin seemed to be getting back into the game. However Mullinavat pointed again to tie up the scores. Aidan then fielded a ball, charged up the field to point from play to put Dunnamaggin back in front. Mullinavat however were not going away and they pointed three times in quick succession to seemingly give them the victory as we headed for the finish. However, Dunnamaggin were up to the task and when Tommy Maher pointed a free to put only one point between the sides it seemed to give Dunnamaggin an edge. Seaghan O'Neill then pointed from play and Willie Bergin added one as well. Victor Costello now playing at midfield was really imposing himself on the game and deservedly scored the last score of the game with an excellent point from play. Full time score: Dunnamaggin 0-14 Mullinavat 1-09. Panel:- Mark Dowling, Brian Farrell, Aaron Doherty, Paul Kirwan, Victor Costello, Aidan Donovan, Andrew Fitzpatrick, Sean Connery, Tommy Maher, Ray Cody, Seaghan O'Neill, Willie Bergin, Donal O'Shea, Richard O'Shea, Jason Doherty (Roy Cullen), William Hughes, Brian O'Shea, Jack Brett, Richie Cuddihy.
