KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday July 13th were: 1st: Elizabeth Lanigan & Philip Brennan; Joint 2nd: Rita Townsend & Jackie Kenneally, Kathleen O’Shea & Mary Lonergan, Grace Landy & Ellen Delahunty. Bridge takes place each Wednesday at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome and it is not necessary to have a partner as one will be provided on the night.

PARKS TENNIS will have its annual two weeks of tennis in Kilmoganny from Monday 25th July until Saturday 6th August. The fee is €20 for 10 lessons. Registration will take place on Monday 25th July. The sessions are as follows: 6 – 8 year olds from 2.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.; 8 – 11 year olds from 3.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. and 12 years and older from 4.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m.


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: Kilkenny Hurling and Handball County Boards ran an U 13 B Doubles 60 x 30 tournament in Talbot’s Inch and Clogh. Kells Handball Club entries were Padraig Lennon, Ryan Grace, Harry Delaney, Emmet Nolan, Matthew O’Sullivan, Conor Brett, John O’Brien, Adam O’Sullivan, Rachel Doherty and Nadine Brennan. After a lot of great games throughout the day Kells pair of Padraig Lennon and Ryan Grace defeated Adam O’Shea and Blade Gorman Windgap in the final. Rachel Doherty and Nadine Brennan reached the final but lost out to Aisling Cooney and Lauren Power of Clogh. Very well done to everyone who participated in what was a great 60 x 30 juvenile tournament. 


In the One Wall Nationals, which was held in Castlebar, Dan Breen (Kells) and Laurence Dunne (Wexford) paired up and went on to win the Men’s B plate defeating Dominic Lynch (Kerry) and Mikey Maher (Tipperary) in the final. Eoin Brennan (Kells) also competed in the U 17 Singles.


 


Foróige DRUM Summer Activities Programme: If you are aged between 13 – 18 years and Interested in a four day activity programme from Monday 25th to Thursday 28th July then join the Foróige DRUM Summer Activities Programme for fun and games, to make friends, to learn basic photo shop skills, to try out Foot Golf and kayaking. This programme will be run from the Foróige DRUM Youth Centre in Kilkenny. The cost is €15. Parental consent required. Contact Kate Carroll on 086 7736975 or kate.carroll@foroige.ie for more details. KILMOGANNNY FESTIVAL: Preparations are underway for Kilmoganny Fundraising Festival which will commence on Wednesday 27th July with the launch of ‘I’m not a celebrity keep me in here`. This event will continue until Sunday 31st July in Kilmoganny Woods and your support would be appreciated. Meanwhile other events will also take place. On Friday 29th July there will be `Oiche Ceol agus Rinnce` in St. Eoghan`s Centre. On Sunday a full day of activities will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre and later in Kilmoganny Sports Field. It would be greatly appreciated if you could make donations towards the `Wheel of Fortune`, the raffle, and if you could donate some confectionery for Friday night and the teas on Sunday.
