KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday July 27th were: 1st: Peggy Vaughan; 2nd: Grace Landy; 3rd: Nicholas Flavin, 4th; Eileen McGowan. Bridge takes place each Wednesday at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome and it is not necessary to have a partner as one will be provided on the night.

KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: The County 60 x 30 juvenile championship commenced and representing Kells in the U 12 Singles was Harry Delaney, in the U 13 singles was Padraig Lennon who lost out in the final to Windgap; in the U 15 Singles was Mikey Prendergast who also lost out in the final to Clogh; in the final of the U 16 Singles Eoin Brennan defeated Jack Holden (Kilfane); in the U 17 Singles Conor Condon defeated Eoin Regan (Clogh) in the final; in the Girls U 13 Singles Rachel Doherty was defeated by Sontae Jackson (Windgap) in the final; in the U 14 Singles was Lauren Grace and in the U 15 Singles was Laura Condon. Very well done to all the Kells participants.


 


GOLF CLASSIC: The annual Dunamaggin GAA Clu8b Golf Classis takes place in Callan Golf Club on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th August. A team of 4 costs €200 to enter. If you wish to sponsor a tee box it costa €50. For tee times contact Michael Murphy at 086 – 2364864.


 


KILMOGANNY OPEN MIC NIGHT: L’Arche in Kilmoganny will hold its next ‘Open Mic Night’ on Thursday 4th August in the Gardens of L’Arche. If the weather is inclement the event will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre. This is an opportunity for song, potrey, music etc. All are very welcome to attend.


 


MICHAEL BROWNRIGG formally of Goodwinsgardens who recently died in England was remembered in a Memorial mass in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan on Sunday 24th July. Michael, who celebrated his 90th birthday, last January, emigrated to England in the early 1950’s. He worked in the RAF before spending many years labouring. He was devoted to his family and loved gardening. He is survived by his wife Ket, sons John, Andrew, Peter and Robert and his daughter Gerarda, grandchildren, sisters Nellie and Mary and brother Billy. He was a dedicated followed of Hurling and was a regular attender at All-Irelands and Kilkenny Co. Finals.
