KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday August 31st were: 1st Myra Hickey & Nellie Lahart; Joint 2nd: Rita Townsend & Jackie Kenneally and Philip Brennan & Carmel O’Sullivan. Bridge takes place each Wednesday at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome and it is not necessary to have a partner as one will be provided on the night.

KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Juvenile 60 x 30 Leinster semi-finals in the U 17 singles Conor Condon (Kells) lost out to Padraig Delaney (Laois) and in the U 15 doubles Michael Prendergast (Kells) and James Love (Clogh) overcame Cian Gough and James Bowden (Kildare).


In the Juvenile 60 x 30 Leinster championship finals in the U 15 Doubles Michael Prendergast (Kells) and James Love (Clogh) were defeated by Cian Kehoe and Josh McMahon (Wexford); in the Gi9rls U 13 Singles Rachel Doherty (Kells) was defeated by April Moran (Wexford) and in the U 16 Singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) defeated Carl Roe (Meath) and now goes on to compete in the All Ireland Semi Final.  Congratulations and very well done to all on reaching the Leinster finals.


 


 


DUNAMAGGAN U 8 HURLERS SUCCESS: Well done to the Dunnamaggin U 8's who took part in the Dicksboro blitz on Saturday. They won all their three games. Well done to all involved on a super effort. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:  A meeting of the parents of children from St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan, St. Brigid’s School, Kells and St Eoghan’s School, Kilmoganny who will receive their First Holy Communion next May will take place in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on this Thursday 8th September at6 7.00 p.m. The meeting will be concluded before 8.00 p.m.


 


BRIDGE CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS will commence in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Wednesday 5th October at 8.00 p.m. No previous card playing experience is necessary. There are lessons on 10 successive Wednesdays. The cost of the lessons is €20 and it includes a break for tea/coffee. WEDDING CELEBRATION: The wedding of Eleanor Butler, Croughtabeg and Ronan Healy from Co. Mayo was celebrated in The Church of Our Lady, Coolagh on Saturday last. The bride was given away by her father Martin. The Bridesmaids were Mary Hughes, Sorche de Bacon and Emma Ryan and the best man was Stephen Healy with Emmet Healy and Cormac Healy as groomsmen. Ella Butler was the flower girl and Eoin Hughes was page boy. Members of the families read the readings and prayers at the mass. Nora Butler and Michael Healy presented the gifts at the offertory. The main celebrant at the mass was Rev. Nicholas Flavin with Mons John Doherty as con-celebrant.
