KELLS SCOUTS OUTING: 8 scouts and there leaders attended a Sionnach (a hiking weekend) on Gougane Barra in West Cork last weekend.  This is a scout thought on the Sionnach We are never getting younger. Something that is never fun to think about. The Scouts were in Gougane Barra this weekend for a Sionnach, a rather strenuous type of camp where all spend the weekend in the mountains. In surroundings like those a person learns a lot about themselves and others. For example all learned that wet boots are an absolute misery. Nature's beauty is evident in such surroundings yet its people one comes to appreciate the most. Bonds are both strengthen and broken in the wild. Some make friends for life in such mountains and also discover there are other people one would happily stay away from. One of the Scout Leaders said “Each journey is one of a kind and there are none I have had in my time with scouts which I will be forgetting anytime soon. We are never getting younger so why miss out on a journey like this.”
