PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE: A meeting will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on this Thursday at 8.00 p.m. to which all parishioners are invited. At the meeting Gemma Mulligan, the Ossory Diocesan Coordinator, will elaborate on the Diocesan Plan and invite ideas and comments from all present. “The meeting is an opportunity for parishioners to influence future developments in the Diocese and also in the parish” Parish Priest Nicholas Flavin said at weekend masses.  


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB:  In the Juvenile County 40 x 20 championships representing Kells in the Boys U 10 doubles were Ciaran Hickey/Conor Lawton and Tim Doherty/Jamie Tallon and in the B U 11 doubles were Ross O’Neill/Sean Lawton and Cathal Buckley/John Hayes who defeated Eanna O’Keeffe/Cian Farrell Kilfane in the final. In the Girls U 10 doubles were Mia O’Connell/Emma O’Sullivan and in the Girls U 11 doubles were Katie Grace/Sal Ryan. Congratulations to all on your participation.


In the Leinster Adult 40 x 20 championships in the Intermediate Doubles Brian Manogue and Frank Manogue (Kells) defeated Michael Lennon/Pat Quaile (Wicklow); in the Emerald Masters B Doubles Pat Funchion/ Paddy Fennelly (Kells) defeated Francis Nolan/Eddie         


Dunne (Laois) and in Junior B Doubles Diarmuid Burke/Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Darren Flynn /Vincent Mulvey (Longford);


In the 40 x 20 Open Senior Singles Peter Funchion (Kells) received a walkover from Tadgh O’Neill (Cork) and Patrick Funchion (Kells) defeated Vinny Moran (Mayo).

KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 8th February were: 1st: Mary Lonergan & Kathleen O’Shea; Josie O’Gorman & Margaret O’Shea; 3rd: Grace Landy & Elizabeth Lanigan. Bridge takes place each Wednesday at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Visitors are always welcome and partners will be provided if necessary.


 THE PAT WALSH MEMORIAL COMMITTEE will hold a meeting in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on Tuesday next 21st February at 8.00 p.m. so as to formalise plans for this year’s Easter Celebrations.


THE ANNUAL DUNNA DASH will take place on Sunday week 26th February. The 5km family run/walk is in aid of St. Leonard’s National School. The event takes place at 12.30 p.m. with registration in the School Hall from 11.30 a.m. There are prizes for the 1st male, 1st female and 1st juvenile to finish. In addition there are spot prizes and refreshments in the school hall after the event.
