The Dunnamaggin Junior hurlers continued their winning ways in Windgap on Saturday. The game was played in radiant sunshine and summer like conditions.Paddy Delaney opened the scoring with a point from play before Windgap quickly responded in the first minute.Tommy Maher added two from placed balls before Darren Fitzpatrick scored from play also to give Dunnamaggin a little distance. Windgap responded with a free.This however was the trigger for a period of dominance from Dunnamaggin who scored 8 points in a row from Tommy 5F, Michael Cody (1), Willie Phelan (1),and John Fitzpatirck (1). Windgap did get two back as we headed for the turnaround but points from play from Victor Costello, Ronan Coffey and another two frees from Tommy sent the sides in Dunnamaggin 0:16 Windgap 0:04.
The expected Windgap backlash happened straight away when they pointed twice before Tommy's total accuracy from the frees continued when he converted another one.Windgap converted another one as both sides went toe to toe in every battle. Ronan took a nice point from play to steady the ship again. Windgap then hit three unanswered points in a mini resurgence to close the gap, Windgap 0:10 Dunnamaggin 0:18. As the game entered teh final quarter scores were being traded with Darren and John adding to their tally. Windgap continued to work very hard and snuck another two over but the damage was done in the first half. Darren, Tommy and Ronan added further points to give Dunnamaggin the win Dunnamaggin 0:23 Windgap 0:13.
